Every day, our lives are enhanced by volunteers who give of their time and talents. Volunteering takes many forms, large and small, which help to strengthen our local communities.
Earlier this year, our parent company launched a program called Rentokil Initial Cares, focused on supporting global charities. They set out to form a committee with representatives from each of the company's major regions worldwide.
Rentokil North America (RNA) ran a contest to select a Colleague to represent our region on that committee. Becky Snyder, Regional Administrator/Customer Service for SOLitude Lake Management Northeast, has been selected as our regional ambassador.
In addition to her ambassador role, RNA will donate $1,000 to a charity dear to Becky: the Grand Assembly of Massachusetts for The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. This not-for-profit coordinates events that help young women build self-confidence and leadership skills, all while serving their community.
Becky participated in Rainbow as a teenager and has continued volunteering with them as an adult, with lead roles on their advisory and executive boards. She explained, "The organization was a wonderful way to learn practical life skills like public speaking, organizing a project, running a meeting, and planning events. I know what the organization did for me - that's why I still serve today. Helping others feels great."
At work, Becky is active in SOLitude's charitable program called The SOLution, coordinating Colleague volunteer opportunities like beach cleanups and Habitat for Humanity builds.
After volunteering at the local and state level, Becky is excited for the opportunity to serve as RNA ambassador and make an impact on a global level.
